Behind every good gourd is a good human.
The Changing of the Gourds is blessed with great humans.
Why are these people so special? Each was a "dry gourd" who has been cleaned by the master and developed to bring forth the art within.
Being "changed gourds", each believes their testimony combined with the blood of Jesus the Lamb, will be a witness to you, sharing the Power to overcome your accuser (Revelation 12:10-11).

Come share the backgrounds, testimonies, and lives of the people behind The Changing of the Gourds.
Darla Assiter Carthel grew up on a farm in the small town of Floydada, Texas. This farm is now known as the Assiter Punkin Ranch where she began her art career.
As a small child, Darla played with art by drawing and painting the world she saw around her. What else is there to do on a farm 11 miles from town beside ride horses, show pigs, and pester two older brothers?
When she was 16, heavy rains delayed pumpkin harvest until it was too late to sale to wholesalers. Darla accompanied her dad and brother to a produce stand at the Dallas Market to sale the crop of pumpkins. While there, she painted a pumpkin to look like a Dallas Cowboy football helmet, and someone bought it for $10. Wow! Big money for a 16 year old in the late 70’s, so she painted another; and another; and another. She has been painting pumpkins and other marketable items ever since.
